Boy Shot In Back Upgraded, Transferred To New Facility

DENVER (CBS4)- The 8-year-old boy who was shot in the back while sitting in a car has been upgraded.

Jacob Valdivia has been upgraded to fair condition and has been transferred to another facility.

Who shot Jacob is still unknown as police continue to search for the suspects.

Police said Jacob was shot about 6:30 p.m. April 30 near 6th and Knox. Authorities said a white car pulled up to a Jeep and fired at least one shot toward the rear of the vehicle.

The white car drove off and the driver of the Jeep went to a 7-Eleven near 5th and Federal to call for help.

Police said the Jacob's mother and mother's friend were also in the Jeep at the time of the shooting. Their names have not been released.
