Hunger Free Colorado Unveils New Neighborhood Food Truck

DENVER (CBS4) - Help is on the way for thousands of Coloradans struggling to put food on the table.

On Tuesday Hunger Free Colorado unveiled its new neighborhood food truck. The retro-fitted recreational vehicle drives around dishing out information to how families can learn about the resources in their community that offer food assistance.

"In every neighborhood in every community in every town across the state more than one in five children don't know where their next meal is coming from," Summer Gathercole with Share Our Strength said. "That's just not acceptable with all the resources that we have."

There are more than 800,000 people at risk of hunger in Colorado and 25 percent of working families lack enough food to meet their basic needs.
