Former Boulder Officer Gets Lengthy Probation For Stalking Woman

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A former Boulder police officer was sentenced to 10 years of probation for stalking a woman.

Christian McCracken pleaded guilty to felony stalking. Attempted murder charges were dropped with his plea deal.

Police say the former officer planned to kill his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. They say he stalked the couple for more than a month.

The judge sentenced McCracken to intensive supervised probation for 10 years and 90 days in jail. He's also ordered to stay out of Colorado. He now lives in Alabama with his family.

"He took responsibility, extenuating circumstances, he took responsibility," McCracken's mother Lisa Hutchins said.

Prosecutors say McCracken has a history of troubling behaviors with other women.
