Protester Call For Resignation Of Grand Junction Councilman
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4) - Protestors in Grand Junction called for the resignation of a public official for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
More than 100 Grand Junction residents attended a rally at City Hall on Friday. Rick Brainard says he won't be giving up his city council seat.
Brainard was arrested last week for third-degree assault and harassment. An arrest affidavit reads, "Rick admitted that he had grabbed Cindy, pushed on her chest, and he admitted to slapping her on the left side of her neck and cheek area."
Brainard is due back in court May 6, the same day he is set to be sworn in.
