SUV Flips Into Home, Injuring Resident After Hit & Run Collision

DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver are looking for the driver who was behind the wheel of an SUV that collided with another car and sent it careening into a home, causing damage and injuring a woman inside.

The crash happened early Tuesday evening at 14th Avenue and South Oneida Street. The SUV struck another SUV just before 6 p.m., sent it rolling off the road and then drove off.

When the vehicle hit the home debris fell on a resident inside. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver in the SUV that rolled also was injured but not seriously.

So far police haven't released much information about the SUV that drove off after the crash, other than to say it is grey.

One resident of the city's Lori Richards Neighborhood where the crime happened told CBS4 she's sick and tired of all the hit-and-run incidents that have been happening in Denver recently.

"I mean that just keeps happening in Denver over and over these hit-and-runs, I just don't know what's going on. It's very scary," Lori Richards said.

Madelaine Midyette lives across the street from the home and says 14th is notorious for out-of-control drivers.

"They go flying up and down 14th," Midyette said. "It's crazy ... and then they go flying the wrong way."
