Judge Sets Bond At $1M For Man Accused Of Attacking Teen

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A judge on Monday set a $1 million bond for a man accused of attacking a teenage girl in Jefferson County.

Xavier Sebastian McDaniel, 20, is accused of breaking into the teen's home on Thursday and attempting to sexually assault her.

Prosecutors had asked for a $100,000 but the judge was concerned McDaniel was a danger to community.

The judge also set other conditions.

"He would be on pretrial services, he would be restrained from being around anybody under the age of 18, he would be ordered to wear a GPS monitor as well as some other terms and conditions that include no weapons, no drugs and no alcohol," Pam Russell with the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office said.

McDaniel's family was in court but refused to make a comment.

The victim in the attack is out of the hospital but is said to have suffered a serious brain injury.
