Colorado Gears Up For Ambitious Branding Effort

DENVER (CBS4)- The State of Colorado is gearing up for what officials call the most ambitious branding effort ever taken on by a state.

It's called the "Making Colorado" campaign. The goal is to bring more visitors to Colorado which will help boost the local economy.

Organizers believe this campaign is different because they are calling on everyone across the state to bring ideas to the table.

"Engaging every citizen in the State of Colorado. Giving them the opportunity to express their point of view and give their perspective throughout the process of developing the brand," said State of Colorado spokesman Aaron Kennedy.

The state hopes by allowing everyone to participate the best ideas and talent will surface.

Gov. John Hickenlooper will unveil the finished plan in August.
