Breckenridge Resort Proposes Summer Activities

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) – Vail Resorts Inc. has submitted another proposal to the U.S. Forest Service for summer activities at one of its Colorado ski resorts. This time, it’s Breckenridge.

The Broomfield-based company previously submitted a comprehensive summer activities plan for Vail, where activities should be ready for the public by mid-summer.

Vail Resorts said Friday that its plans for Breckenridge include adding off-road mountaintop tours; an adventure park with trampolines and an alpine slide; about 14 miles of mountain biking trails; zip lines; and a climbing wall.

If the Forest Service approves the plan, construction would start in the summer of 2015.

Breckenridge plans to contribute 1 percent of summer lift ticket and activity revenue to The Nature Conservancy for forest restoration projects. Prices haven’t been announced yet.
