Loveland Fire Marshal Charged With DWAI While Responding To Fire
LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4)- A Loveland firefighter has been placed on leave after responding to a fire after he had been allegedly drinking.
Fire Marshal Merlin Green was charged with driving while ability impaired, DWAI, which is a misdemeanor.
According to the police report Green smelled of alcohol and failed to complete roadside sobriety tests.
Green's blood alcohol level was .074, which is below the legal limit for DUI.
Loveland's fire chief said Green never worked on the fire or created any safety hazards for crews fighting the fire.
