FOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4) – Northbound lanes of Interstate 25 had to be closed after a cattle truck overturned near mile marker 122 early Sunday morning near Fountain.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the truck was traveling southbound when a tire blew out and the driver lost control. The truck crossed into northbound lanes, crashing into a guard rail and overturned.
Two other vehicles heading north on I-25 were also involved in the accident.
The truck was hauling nearly 100 cattle and some of the animals were killed in the crash and others suffered broken bones.
Nobody was injured in the crash.
Workers from T-Cross Ranch assisted in gathering the cattle.
