Woman Pleads To Lesser Charge In Baby Son's Death
BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of her infant son, whose body was found in a Denver-area landfill last year.
Sharrieckia Page entered her plea Friday in Adams County District Court. Under her plea agreement, charges of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in the death of 7-month-old Torrey Brown were dropped.
Prosecutors say she faces 35 to 48 years in prison at a sentencing hearing set for May 3.
Commerce City police started looking for the boy after a relative asked for a welfare check.
An arrest affidavit in the case remains sealed pending sentencing.
