Inmate Found Hanging In Jefferson County Jail
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says a man awaiting a court hearing apparently hanged himself in the county jail.
A sheriff's deputy discovered the victim on Thursday during an inmate check. Deputies tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate him.
The sheriff's office says the 24-year-old man was a Department of Corrections prisoner who had arrived at the Jefferson County jail earlier in the day for a hearing. The identity of the inmate is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
