DIA Prepares For Winter Storm; 200+ Flights Cancelled

DENVER (CBS4)- Crews at Denver International Airport are preparing for a winter storm on Saturday.

Airlines had cancelled 216 flights for Saturday. More delays are expected as the snow starts to pile up.

Travelers are urged to check their flight status with their airline or flydenver.com.

Some airlines are offering change-fee waivers for the duration of the storm.

The airlines are preparing to be in full deicing operations when the storm arrives. Passengers could be on the plane a little longer before take-off but travelers should continue to plan on being at the gate when their boarding pass states.

DIA's snow removal crews spent Friday getting ready for the storm, topping off fluids and preparing equipment. DIA has more than 500 trained snow-removal personnel.
