Man Allegedly Uses Craigslist To Try To Deliver Pot

LONE TREE, Colo. (CBS4) - A 22-year-old man was arrested this week after authorities in Douglas County say he delivered marijuana to an officer who posed as an interested Craigslist user.

The suspect, Andrew Kipling Walton, allegedly promised in a Craiglist posting to deliver marijuana to "any location" in exchange for a donation.

Officers with the Douglas County Pattern Crime Unit responded to the posting and asked to have the pot delivered to a location in Lone Tree. Walton allegedly made the delivery and was then arrested.

Police say he had delivered 3.5 ounces of marijuana.

Walton posted bond and tentatively faces charges of unlawful distribution of marijuana.

While many district attorneys across Colorado have announced that they are no longer prosecuting marijuana possession cases in the wake of Colorado's new legal marijuana law, officials in Douglas County said the new law doesn't authorize the distribution or sale of marijuana, except for medical marijuana.
