STERLING, Colo. (CBS4) – A train derailed east of Sterling and sparked a number of small grass fires Saturday morning.
Parts of Highway 138 were closed east of Sterling. A dozen crumpled train cars piled up on top of each other at a train crossing. An empty coal train reportedly jumped the tracks.
No injuries were reported and the grass fires have been contained.
The highway has since reopened.
