DENVER (CBS4) – The Red Cross is celebrating after reaching its goal of installing 1,000 defibrillators in Denver.
Doctors say the devices are crucial because they allow anyone to save the life of someone suffering from a heart attack.
“This is an automatic external defibrillator – an AED – but with this relatively simple device, you can save a life,” Dr. Christopher Colwell with Denver Health said.
The devices are placed in high-traffic areas like museums, schools and libraries.
Thursday’s 1,000th installation was at The Cell at 12th and Broadway and is part of the Save A Life Denver program.
