DENVER (CBS4) – A new Denver home is ready to welcome homeless veterans who need help getting back on their feet.
HomeAid, along with Volunteers of America, started building a home for struggling military veterans. With its completion there are now three houses in the Mayfair neighborhood.
The organization has built more than 40 homes along the Front Range.
One veteran says she can focus on getting back on her feet without worrying about making rent each month.
“I am looking forward to continuing working with the program through VOA to reach my goal of finishing school, and then finding a place to call my own,” said Judi Schivone, veteran recipient.
Typically veterans and their children live in the homes for a year.
