DENVER (CBS4) – She dressed the greats of Hollywood — from Bette Davis to Audrey Hepburn to Mae West to Sophia Loren.

But how much does anyone really know about Edith Head, the legendary Hollywood costume designer?

The diva behind the Coke bottle glasses was nominated for 35 Academy Awards over her 57 year career in Hollywood. She won eight times, and became one of old Hollywood’s great characters in and of herself.

A one-woman show in Denver this weekend provides a look at her fascinating life behind the camera.

“A Conversation with Edith Head” takes place this Sunday at 7 p.m. at the L2 Arts & Culture Center. The event is presented by the Denver Film Society.
