Man Accused Of Murdering, Dismembering Mother Will Stand Trial

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4)- The man accused of murdering and dismembering his mother has been found competent to stand trial.

Investigators in Arapahoe County said Ari Liggett poisoned his mother, Beverly Liggett, in their home in Centennial. Then they believe he cut up her body.

Liggett told investigators his mother had recently left him out of her will. He originally told the interviewing officers he had found his mother dead in the living room after she committed suicide.

Investigators then found the dismembered remains of a deceased adult female in the back seat of the vehicle that was driven by Liggett. Those remains were positively identified as those of Beverly.

During the investigation of the house they also found traces of blood in the freezer and bathtub.

Liggett's father said his son has a history of mental health issues.
