GLENDALE, Colo. (CBS4) – CBS4 has learned that Glendale Police Chief Victor Ross has been placed on leave and multiple sources say he is not expected to return as chief.
“He’s on leave,” said Glendale City Manager Jerry Peters. Peters said it was a “personnel issue, I can’t discuss that.”
Josh Hanfling, a public information officer for Glendale, said Ross was placed on leave Wednesday but declined to provide further details.
However multiple sources familiar with the situation told CBS4 Ross will not be reinstated as police chief.
Glendale has about 4,000 residents within its one square mile. In 2011, its officers responded to nearly 18,000 calls. Ross has been chief of its department for approximately 10 years.
Late Friday, Chief Ross told CBS4 he was not prepared to make a statement but would consider discussing the situation when he had more details.
