FOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4) – A woman has died and two children were injured after a single-car rollover accident on Interstate 25 early Monday morning.
The crash happened on northbound I-25 near Fountain, south of Colorado Springs.
The driver, identified as Pamela McCullom, 42, of Fountain, was partially ejected and later died at a hospital. Police said McCullom wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
Emony Whiteley, 10, and Kirsten Smith, 13, were both ejected from the vehicle. They also were not wearing seat belts. Both sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The relationship between the woman and the children has not been released.
Troopers are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The highway had to be closed for more than an hour for the investigation but has since reopened.
