2 Dogs Rescued From Rocky Mountain Lake

DENVER (CBS4) – Two dogs are safe after being rescued from Rocky Mountain Lake in northwest Denver.

The lake is located on the south side of Interstate 70 between Lowell and Federal. The owners say their two labs got out of the house while they were moving and ran to the park.

The dogs chased geese onto the ice and broke through. One dog managed to swim to shore. The other was in the water for 15 minutes, but rescuers were able to save it.

“I was thinking he might not make it, personally. But I’m glad that we got him back,” the dog’s owner said.

Pet owners are warned to keep their dogs on leashes and away from water.
