DougCo Deputy Accused Of Sending Inappropriate Texts To Child Fired
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) - A Douglas County sheriff's deputy who was arrested after allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a juvenile has been fired.
Sgt. Ron Hanavan said Deputy Robert M. French was taken into custody on Friday and posted a $50,000 bond. He was arrested on two charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
"An internal affairs investigation is running concurrent to the criminal investigation," Hanavan said in a statement.
Hanavan said the French's alleged conduct was while off duty and didn't involve schools.
"This is a very complex case. It is anticipated to be lengthy and there may be additional arrests," Hanavan said.
