DougCo Deputy Accused Of Sending Inappropriate Texts To Child

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) - A Douglas County sheriff's deputy has been arrested after allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a juvenile.

Sgt. Ron Hanavan said the deputy was taken into custody on Friday and posted a $50,000 bond. He's was arrested on two charges of sexual exploitation of a child.

"This deputy has been placed on an unpaid administrative leave while the investigation continues," Hanavan said in a statement. "An internal affairs investigation is running concurrent to the criminal investigation."

Hanavan said the deputy's alleged conduct was while off duty and didn't involve schools.
