DougCo Deputy Accused Of Sending Inappropriate Texts To Child
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) - A Douglas County sheriff's deputy has been arrested after allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a juvenile.
Sgt. Ron Hanavan said the deputy was taken into custody on Friday and posted a $50,000 bond. He's was arrested on two charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
"This deputy has been placed on an unpaid administrative leave while the investigation continues," Hanavan said in a statement. "An internal affairs investigation is running concurrent to the criminal investigation."
Hanavan said the deputy's alleged conduct was while off duty and didn't involve schools.
"This is a very complex case. It is anticipated to be lengthy and there may be additional arrests," Hanavan said.
The department is withholding the deputy's name until more investigating can be done.
