Man Convicted Of Murder In Dad's Death In Arvada
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — A Jefferson County jury has convicted a man in the shooting death of his father in 2010.
Prosecutors said Friday that David Paul Arledge was convicted this week of first-degree murder.
Arledge had moved out of the Arvada home of his father, Floyd Carl Arledge II, after the two had a dispute, but prosecutors say he returned on Sept. 10, 2010, and shot his father. He didn't realize a cousin was in the basement at the time.
Arledge is scheduled to be sentenced March 4 to life in prison without parole.
His brother, Floyd Arledge III, has been sentenced to three years of intensive supervision probation and 90 days in jail for being an accessory to murder. Prosecutors said he gave false information to investigators looking for his brother.
