PUNKIN CENTER, Colo. (AP) – Authorities say a Fort Carson soldier is recovering after he was wounded in an accidental shooting at a home shooting range in eastern Colorado.
Lincoln County sheriff’s Capt. Clint Tweden said Tuesday 18-year-old Reid Potwin was shot in the leg when 21-year-old Zachary Clay’s gun went off while he was trying to clean his weapon.
Potwin was flown to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs following the weekend shooting. Tweden says no charges are expected.
Officials at Fort Carson said no weapons from the base were involved.
