AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A group from Aurora Public Schools has been going door to door to encourage students to get back to school.
The Truancy Reduction Team knocks on the doors of students who are often absent from school.
On Tuesday Superintendent John Barry was part of the effort.
“The system seems to be working and their ability at least to know we are serious about it. Also we’re there to help,” Barry said. “We’re not trying to be intimidating,”
The group has convinced more than 400 students to return to class this school year.
