Police Arrest Liquor Store Robbery Suspect, Thank Media

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police are crediting CBS4 and other media outlets for helping track down a robbery suspect.

Police in Lakewood released video and still photographs from surveillance footage showing a liquor store robbery suspect in two locations.

The man was wanted in two robberies, one in the area of W. Jewell Ave. and S. Oak Street on Jan. 18 and another in the area of W. Jewell Ave. and S. Kipling Street on Jan. 20.

In the first robbery the suspect threatened the store clerk with a knife and stole the money that was in the cash register.

In the second, the robbery was similar except the suspect threatened the store clerk with an unknown type of handgun. In both cases the suspect ran away from the store.

Jacob Carlock was located in Fort Collins on Tuesday after several viewers contacted police in Lakewood and identified him as the suspect.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Carlock, 36, for three robberies. The third robbery occurred Jan. 25 at 20th and Wadsworth.

Police in Fort Collins and their SWAT team, along with assistance from Lakewood police officers, apprehended Carlock.

Carlock remains in custody at the Larimer County Jail to face charges of aggravated robbery, felony menacing and felony theft.
