FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) – Pierce Hornung had 23 points and 13 rebounds as Colorado State extended its home winning streak to 25, defeating Boise State 77-57 Wednesday night.
It was the third double-double of the season and ninth of Hornung’s career. He also moved past Jason Smith into sixth place all-time at Colorado State with 691 rebounds.
Dorian Green added 12 points for the Rams (17-4, 4-2 Mountain West), who have the nation’s fourth-longest home winning streak and last lost in Fort Collins on Nov. 19, 2011 to Southern Mississippi.
Derrick Marks, who averages 17 points a game, had flu-like symptoms and played only nine minutes for the Broncos.

Boise State, which has never won in six trips to Moby Arena, made only 7 of 21 shots and trailed 33-20 at halftime. Hornung scored the game’s first six points as Colorado State jumped ahead 8-0, but Thompson made consecutive shots to pull Boise State within 19-18 with 8:15 left in the period.
Colorado State then scored 14 straight points, the final three coming on Daniel Bejarano’s layup and free throw. The Broncos missed eight straight shots and turned the ball over three times during that stretch before Joe Hanstad made two free throws with under a minute left.
Things didn’t get any better for the Broncos, who made only three shots in the first seven minutes of the second half. Hornung’s 3-pointer and a reverse layup by Iverson pushed the lead to 47-26, and the Rams led by as 26 points down the stretch.
