BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – The case of JonBenet Ramsey has gone unsolved for 16 years. Now the Boulder Daily Camera has reported that back in 1999 the Ramsey grand jury voted to indict the young girl’s parents.
The newspaper cited multiple sources that include members of the grand jury. They say jurors wanted to indict both John and Patsy Ramsey on charges of child abuse resulting in the death of the 6-year-old.
Former District Attorney Alex Hunter said he didn’t feel there was enough evidence to prosecute.
Nearly a decade later a new district attorney cleared the Ramsey parents and their son using DNA tests.
