AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in Aurora.
Frank Fania with Aurora police said officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 2300 block of Emporia Street at approximately 11 p.m. Friday. When they arrived they found a woman who had been shot multiple times. She was rushed to a hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
“Police quickly learned the name of a possible adult male suspect that lived a few houses away, also in the 2300 block of Emporia Street,” Fania said in a statement. “The suspect’s house was surrounded, and he was arrested without incident after a brief standoff.”
The identities of the suspect and victim have not been released.
“Police believe the suspect and the victim knew each other but it is unclear at this time what the exact relationship was,” Fania said.
The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with more information is asked to call Aurora police.
