Center High School Student Detained After Threat Against School On Facebook

CENTER, Colo. (CBS4) – A teenager in Southern Colorado has been detained for allegedly posting a threat on Facebook.

The teen is accused of threatening to carry out a massacre at a high school over a detention issue.

The teen was taken into custody Tuesday.

The threat allegedly focused on Center High School in the town of Center, located about 20 miles north of Alamosa. The school district says it appears the teen simply made an irresponsible remark and didn’t plan to follow through.

The school wasn’t closed but dozens of students stayed home on Wednesday.
