DENVER (CBS4)- Get ready for an infusion of orange and blue throughout the Denver area as the Broncos journey into the playoffs and are hoping to reach the Super Bowl.
There are “United in Orange” signs that line the 16th Street Mall in Denver. More signs will be popping up around the city.
There are also plans to put up orange and blue lights around downtown Denver.
“There’s no question that Denver loves its sports teams, but more importantly success with our sports teams breeds a sense of community, and this is a way to unite about something so positive and energizing, especially for Denver, ” said Downtown Denver Partnership spokeswoman Tami Door.
It’s all part of an effort to get Broncos fans — and even those who aren’t that into football — excited about the opportunity the Broncos have this season.
On the day before the Broncos first playoff game — Friday, Jan. 11 — the team will host a “United in Orange” pep rally at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The event, presented in coordination with King Soopers, will run from 5-8 p.m. and will take place at the Sports Legends Mall on the south side of the stadium.
The rally is free and open to the public and will feature the Broncos cheerleaders, some alumni players and mascots Miles and Thunder. The band Funkiphino will perform and get fans excited for the game.
Food and drinks will be available, and attendees will have a chance to win prizes, playoff tickets and other Broncos memorabilia.

The Broncos playoff game against either the Ravens, Colts or Bengals kicks off at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 12. Watch it on CBS4.
