LINCOLN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Highway 71 had to be closed Monday morning after an accident involving a semi truck.
Police said the semi slammed into a guard rail when the driver was reaching for a water bottle on the floor of the truck.
The trailer was left hanging over the side of a bridge. The driver escaped injury.
The highway was shut down at Highway 71 and Lincoln County Road near Forder. It’s since be reopened.
The driver was cited for careless driving.
