Fern Lake Fire Continues To Burn Despite Snow, Cold

ESTES PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - Several inches of snow and bitter cold temperatures haven't been enough to put out the Fern Lake Fire.

The fire is three miles away from Estes Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Firefighters say it's still smoldering in isolated areas.

The fire actually put out some visible smoke over the last week, although the probability that it will spark up again is very low.

A fire hasn't burned in that part of the park in 800 years.
