Suspect Shot, Killed After Colorado Springs Police Pursuit
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Authorities say a suspect was shot and killed after a pursuit by Colorado Springs police that ended outside the city limits.
The Gazette reports at least one officer opened fire after the suspect rammed the small pickup he was driving into a police cruiser on Friday.
Authorities say the suspect was armed.
No other injuries were reported. Authorities haven’t released any names. An officer has been placed on administrative leave, standard practice after a police shooting.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Department is investigating because the incident occurred outside police jurisdiction.
Deputies say police a were following the suspect in connection with felony warrants when the confrontation occurred outside a convenience store. No details of the warrants have been released.
