DENVER (CBS4) – Thousands of people celebrated Christmas early in downtown Denver on Sunday.
Families in need enjoyed a holiday meal and opened gifts at the Sheraton Hotel. It was all part of the annual Father Woody Christmas Party.
Event organizers say they look forward to bringing Christmas to families who otherwise might not have a reason to celebrate.
“I’m just really excited that everybody was able to be here. The Sheraton Downtown Denver hotel is proud to partner with the Daniels Fund and Regis University to provide these meals for these families,” an organizer said.
Father Woody is remembered for his commitment to help out the homeless. His tradition of giving to those less fortunate is carried on years after his death.
