Longmont Police Find Grenades In Suspect's Car
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators searched a car in Longmont on Wednesday afternoon and found two grenades inside.
Police arrested the car's driver and a passenger. They were seen leaving a home connected to a burglary suspect. Officers then found the grenades inside the car after stopping it at 21st Avenue and Terry Street.
Police evacuated some businesses and closed the road to examine the explosives. They were later safely disposed of.
Police also found four stolen airbags in the car. Officers say static electricity can set them off, so crews worked to make the scene safe.
