Police Think Suspect Rammed Car To Sexually Assault Woman

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman after his vehicle collided with hers.

It happened at about 8 a.m. Monday after the woman had just dropped off her children at school.

The woman was driving back home when the suspect crashed into her car, causing minor damage. When the woman got out of her car to assess the damage the suspect sexually assaulted her.

He then tried to force her to drive to another location. The woman was able to fight him off and got away.

"She did fight back and I think she even used her keys to attack that suspect," Steve Davis with Lakewood police said.

The man is described as a white man with Hispanic descent, in his late 20s to early 30s, 6-feet tall, skinny with medium length dirty blonde hair. He has heavy acne on his face, rotten teeth and appeared dirty and unkempt.

"That behavior is just indicative of someone that's very dangerous. Broad daylight, out on a street; that tells me that is someone who is very desperate and very dangerous," Davis said.

He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, purple jersey, white long sleeve shirt underneath a jersey and baggy blue jeans.

The suspect was driving a gold or similar colored Plymouth Laser or similar model, year 1990-1994, no front plate but a Colorado license plate on the rear, with a cracked windshield and old body damage on the driver's front side.

Similar models of vehicle include Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Lakewood Police Department at (303) 987-7111.
