COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – A man shot by Colorado Springs police officers following a police chase last week has died.

Robert Kresky, 23, was shot last Tuesday as he allegedly attempted to escape officers after crashing a stolen vehicle.

Officers tried to pull Kresky over after noticing he was driving a stolen car near Power and Astrozon. Kresky then fled and crashed the car near Platte and Union. An officer was also involved in the crash.

Police said Kresky then fled on foot and an officer shot him. He was taken to Memorial Hospital and died on Saturday.

The officer is currently on paid leave.
