CDOT Tests 'Continuous Flow Metering' At Eisenhower Tunnel
DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Department of Transportation tested a new traffic pattern to cut down on traffic tie ups at the Eisenhower Tunnel on Saturday.
It's called "continuous flow metering." It will work in the same way as the lights at on-ramps in the metro area.
CDOT will open up the shoulder of Interstate 70 through the tunnel to create four lanes.
CDOT officials said there wasn't enough traffic on Saturday to determine if the new plan worked. They will try again on a busier day.
