FOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado State Patrol says a 19-year-old Colorado Springs man is dead after driving in the wrong direction on southbound Interstate 25 and crashing head-on into a semitrailer.
The State Patrol says the teen was driving north in the southbound lanes south of Fountain around 4:25 a.m. Thursday when his car struck the semitrailer. Troopers say he wasn’t wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries.
The semitrailer driver wasn’t injured.
It wasn’t immediately known where the teen entered the highway.
