Aurora Police Search For Hit & Run Driver

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)– Police in Aurora searched for a hit and run driver early Thursday morning.

Police said a 14-year-old girl was struck at 16808 E. Colfax at about 6 a.m. Thursday.

She told police the driver did stop and picked her up. Then he drove her to a nearby 7-Eleven near East Colfax and Laredo and left her there, after initially driving past the convenience store.

The teen was complaining of pain as firefighters and paramedics arrived to examine her. She suffered from minor bruising and scrapes.

Police are looking for a dark blue car driven by a black man. He was last seen speeding away from the scene.

Police said the driver may be facing kidnapping charges. They do not believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.
