WASHINGTON (CBS4) – A spectacular tree will give visitors to the nation’s Capitol a towering taste of Colorado during the holidays.

Tuesday afternoon House Speaker John Boehner turned on the lights of this year’s Capitol tree.

Colorado Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet and Rep. Scott Tipton joined in the ceremony.

The 65-foot Engelmann spruce came from the White River National Forest near Meeker. It’s decked out with 10,000 lights and thousands of ornaments.
