BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – The University of Colorado Buffaloes were in recruiting mode on Monday.
Athletic Director Mike Bohn is trying to sell CU football on Butch Jones, the current head coach at the University of Cincinnati. It’s essentially Jones’ job if he wants it.
Jones flew in to Boulder Monday morning and met with university officials for most of the afternoon. They’re reportedly offering him a 5-year contract worth more than $13.5 million. They’re also promising upgrades to the practice facility.
Jones, 44, spent the last three years at Cincinnati. Hiis Bearcats are 9-3 this season. Before that he was the head coach at Central Michigan University.
Jones has plenty of options. He met with Purdue on Monday and Cincinnati definitely wants him back.
