BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) – An 80-year-old man is dead after being struck while crossing a street in Broomfield and his 77-year-old female companion was seriously injured.

The two were struck by an SUV driven by a woman from Longmont Saturday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 7 and Mountain View Boulevard.

The victims are both from Erie.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
