Colorado Christmas Tree Arrives At U.S. Capitol

WASHINGTON (AP/CBS4) – This year’s U.S. Capitol Christmas tree has arrived in Washington from Colorado.

The tree, a 65-foot Engelmann spruce from the Blanco Ranger District the White River National Forest, arrived by truck and was erected on the Capitol grounds on Monday.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand to oversee the operation.

The tree will be decorated with approximately 5,000 ornaments and will be lit by House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, during a ceremony on Dec. 4.
