LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) – A young child was killed after getting struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in Littleton.

Police said the accident occurred at the Aspen Grove Shopping Center located at 7301 South Santa Fe Drive.

The accident occurred at about 10:38 a.m.

Police said the victim was a 2-year-old boy. He was transported to Littleton Adventist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators were gathered behind a red Lincoln Navigator in the parking lot.

Witnesses say the area was really busy with lots of traffic in the parking lot.

The identity of the child and the driver have not been released.
