LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — A fire fueled by natural gas has destroyed two trailers and forced the evacuation of more than a dozen people.
The evacuations were ordered Monday after a trailer caught fire near Mississippi and Pierce and firefighters found a natural gas leak.
Three people got out safely and an undetermined number of animals were killed.
“Our crews are going through the units and working with Xcel, trying to determine if there are any other fires, any other injuries,” Michelle French with West Metro Fire said.
Investigators say the fire was caused by high pressure on a gas line.
