“If you think about it, our soldiers, our sailors, our airmen, our Marines, our Coast Guardsmen have stood against our nation’s enemies for over 236 years,” Sen. Mark Udall said. “During that time our military has kept our nation safe and brought the light of democracy to some of the darkest corners of our world.”
The federal Veterans Day holiday will be observed on Monday and many state, federal and government offices will be closed.
